Modified O Class Submarines

Australia included submarines in its naval development program for 1924-1929. They were seen important strategic assets — able to operate covertly, with the potential to disrupt enemy shipping. Two submarines, HMAS Oxley and HMAS Otway were ordered in 1924. They were Odin Class, a modified version of the British O Class submarines
